I mentioned these addictive Oven Baked Truffle Fries when I told you about the Absolute Best Hamburger Recipe. These fries are so super easy and so super tasty! I like to think this elevates ordinary boring french fries to gourmet fries. Without fail when I make these fries there are none left. They are simply to die for!
I’m kind of somewhat obsessed with potatoes. I’ve often said I could give up carbs as long as I can keep my potatoes. 😉 I will really take potatoes in any form they are made. Bonus if they are quick and easy to make – which these oven baked truffle fries are!
So while I’m not able to give up my precious spuds I do (sometimes) try to make them a little bit healthier. With this recipe we will be baking the fries which cuts back on all the fat from frying them. I also use a more heart healthy olive oil (which I neglected to get in the ingredient picture!) instead of vegetable or canola oil. Life is all about choices and I try to substitute healthy choices every now and then. 😉
For this recipe I do use frozen french fries. As a working mom, time is of the essence when cooking dinner. And frozen fries is definitely a time saver. I feel like this recipe is best with steak fries. That gives you more surface area for the truffle salt, garlic powder and parsley to adhere to. The truffle salt gives the fries a nice earthy flavor. And then you get all the fluffy potato goodness inside the fries! YUM!
Preheat the oven to the temperature as indicated in the baking instructions for your fries. For the fries I used that temperature was 450 degrees. In a resealable plastic bag shake the french fries in the olive oil, parsley, truffle salt and garlic powder. Once coated arrange the fries in a single layer on a parchment lined baking sheet.
If you haven’t used parchment paper it is life changing! First of all you do not have to grease the pan to keep the fries from sticking. That keeps the fries healthier. Secondly it makes the clean up so much easier. And I am ALL ABOUT easier cleanup.
Follow the baking instructions for your fries and bake until crispy. For my oven I always have to go a little longer which ends up around 25 minutes. This always gives me plenty of time to cook the other parts of my meal. For this meal we put the burgers on the grill while the fries baked in the oven. When you remove the fries from the oven sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve.
Oven baked truffle fries are an excellent choice to go with grilled hamburgers at a cookout or any family dinner. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
